Amanda S. Duty, O.D. graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of Alabama and received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At UAB she served as Class President all four years and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and Golden Key International Honor Society. Dr. Duty completed her residency in Geriatric and Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center and is a board-certified optometrist. Prior to joining Montgomery Eye Physicians, she served seven years as an active duty optometrist in the United States Air Force and continues to proudly serve in the United States Air Force Reserves. She has extensive experience working with the veteran, pediatric, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) populations. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
An Alabama native, Dr. Duty enjoys spending time with her husband Jonathan and three young children. In her spare time, she loves attending sports events, fishing, boating, and being active in the community.
