To Our Medicare Patients

Since October 2004, new Medicare insurance products have been marketed in the Central Alabama area. These private Medicare products replace the standard government issued Medicare and Medicaid QMB.

At Montgomery Eye Physicians, we participate in:

There has been some confusion, because the premium you pay out of your Social Security check for health benefits still goes to Medicare. The government then sends the premium to your private insurer.

Care CreditAs the patient, YOU are responsible for updating your insurance information and notifying us of any changes in your coverage. Many patients are confused about these changes. We encourage you to let us know even if you have only attended a meeting about your coverage or if you have been contacted by telephone or in person about your insurance coverage. We can investigate to determine if the levels of your coverage have changed.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT IN FULL

OF ANY SERVICES, INCLUDING SURGERY,

IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE THE

CORRECT INSURANCE INFORMATION.

For our TriCare patients - payment is due at the time of service but we will be happy to file your claim for claim as a courtesy.

  • MEP does not participate with Humana ChoiceCare. (This is not the Humana Medicare product. The Humana Medicare product is Humana Gold Choice PFFS.)

Your Responsibility:

  • If there has been ANY CHANGE in your insurance coverage, you MUST inform us at the time of service. Otherwise, your insurance company may deny your claim thus making the service your responsibility.
